TMC Gravel Autotest 2004

Firstly, thanks to PJ for the use of a Fiesta and Carlton Estate, and for squaring the use of the venue with Ross. Secondly thanks to Nathan for buzzing home for the Golf GTI, and Andy and Dan for tow-starting and bringing over the "Cop" Sierra, and thanks to Dave at Vision for use of the car.

It was great to see the Heap's (Zenya and Tonya) out for their first event, and Zenya frightened the boys with fastest time on the first test, second fastest on test 4, and finished an excellent 4th overall!

At the top Andy Corner continued his excellent run, but Dan and Eddie are closing in. An interesting battle between Simon Clark and Co-driver Stuart Darvill - Simon pulled out +14.7s on the first two tests, but as Stuart got to grips with it he pulled back 11.6s on tests 3+4. Simon won by a rapidly narrowing 3.1s!

Dad Mark Wainwright-Fisher bought out the whole clan for this event - many thanks! And they all seemed to enjoy it! They all did well on the first test, but several disasters on tests 2+3 pulled them down to the lower end of the table. Mark had a strong run and finished a creditable 6th overall, and but for a spin on Test 2 looked good for a top 4 position.

Finally I have to mention David, my younger son (15), on his first ever competitive Club event. He started brightly on tests 1+2, when up to 8th overall, but slipped back to finish 12, well done!
