Rally Action UK
RAUK is a new magazine devoted to clubman rallying. The letter below from the editors introduces the magazine and
explains how you can contribute a report on events they are covering that you have competed on. RAUK have kindly sponsored
our Caption Competition, which is featured in the March edition of Spotlight,
the Thame Motorsport Club magazine. They are giving a 6 month subscription to the winner. Click the link above or see
the March edition of Spotlight to enter.

You may be aware that a new magazine dedicated to clubman rallying is on the go but as yet you have never seen a copy or
it may be that we have been in contact with you or you with us via email or telephone. Launched last May, RAUK follows the
activities of the clubman. The mag is only available by subscription and we are WRC free!! Our only tangible link with the
WRC is where we are following a clubman (eg Martin Rowe) trying to make it on the World Stage and the story is about their
exploits and not about the WRC event itself. Anyone interested in subscribing can do so on-line at our web site, www.rallyactionuk.com,
or by completing a subscription card available at many events.
For 2003 we will be covering events in both the North & the South of Ireland, the Isle of Man, as well as expanding
our coverage of events in the UK at all levels. To this end, we hope to have a summary preview on as many events as we can
in the mag for the rest of the year. For this we look for approx 5-600 words. The preview is not intended to take anything
away from an official programme, but to is intended to steer people to the area where they would then acquire a programme.
However, depending on when an event is, our print date and an events closing date, we will provide more detailed info if an
event furbish us with all the relevant information and would like it published, basically providing a 'mini' programme on
the event within the magazine. Any information you have on events can be emailed to
.
We also have our 'RAUK On' section, which is where we place summary information on events for both competitors and
spectators alike, similar to 'What's On' in Motorsport News. If you want people to know what is going on in your area, then
let us know at
.
We have the majority of the main championship calendars but if there are any events we have not included or championships
you are aware of that have not been included please let us know.
We have introduced for 2003 a section in the magazine called 'Championship Chat', which is for the exclusive use of
Championship co-ordinators/championship press officers, and is where they can post info on their championship that is either
newsworthy, an announcement or just a general update on the Championship. We feel it is important to help clubs and
championships give their sponsors as much coverage as we can, thus having the appropriate logos to include with a report is
important. So if you having anything you want to place just let us know at
.
We have also introduced a "crew'n'car" section, which will be similar to the "crew-by-crew" section
that used to be in Rallysport. The difference here is the competitors can only complete this online at our web-site, but
they can also place a photo of themselves to accompany their info, and these will be printed alongside.
Finally, the majority of us involved in the magazine are ex rally clubmen, retired through either age or injury, but very
keen to see the sport and the clubman get the coverage they justly deserve. If you have any need to contact us on any
matter, please feel free to do so at
.
We wish all at Thame Motor Club all the best for 2003 and that you have a successful season's rallying.
