Duncan Gamage / James Walters

Duncan’s original rally car was a Saab 96 V4. James remembers well the day in 1994 when Duncan moved in next door to him in Grendon Underwood, and the rally car turned up. It was loud!

The Saab was becoming a bit unreliable, not to mention uncompetitive, and so Duncan bought his trusty Nova in 1995. Initially Duncan was teamed up with his brother in the Co-drivers seat, competing at Finmere, Westcott, and Longcross, and starting the cars class winning record. However, In December 2000 Duncan asked James to co-drive at Longcross for the Carfax Stages (12th OA, 1st in class) James was hooked, and the successful partnership has not been broken since (money permitting!) with a substantial trophy cabinet being built up.

The car was originally a very standard Group N BTRDA forest car. However over the years it has been substantially modified, with twin carbs, Blydenstein head, and a move up to 1400 CC in 2003, with a LSD being added the same year.
