Dick Bailey Stages rally in Wexford
Kevin Pead took part in the Dick Bailey Stages rally in Wexford (southern Ireland) which was a 14
stage event over two days comprising closed roads, 140 stage miles and 150 road miles. Using his new mk2 Escort. Kevin
finished 2nd in class after loads of problems including having to limp around the last 4 stages with a Knackered diff, the
only reason he didn't retire was because the guy in 3rd in class was 6 minutes behind, so he took a gamble and carried on
which paid off.

New Rally Safety Harness Regs for 2006
New safety harness regulations for stage rally cars come into force on 1st January 2006. From that
date it will be mandatory for safety harnesses to be FIA homologated. Harnesses are clearly identified by an FIA homologation
label sewn into them near the release box. This label states: Not valid after [date]. Once this date has passed, the harness
is no longer FIA homologated. All straps of a harness are labelled to identify them as being one set. The relevant regulation
is K 37.8.3. for special stage rallies.
