May 2009: Welsh International Rally

Kevin Newman & Jonathan Sargeant took part in the RDP Welsh rally on 3rd May.

It was their first time on Epynt. It was also the first time doing a recce and using pace notes. Their plan was to go for the finish so they took it steady but not too slow and at the end of the day finished 6th in class and 40th overall, in their 205GTI 1.9.

February 2009: Tour of Epynt

Simon Mauger and Brian Cammack finished 5th overall and 2nd in class on the Fix Auto Swansea Tour of Epynt 2009, on 22nd February.

The rally was the opening round of the 2009 MSA Asphalt Rally Championship and the 2009 BTRDA Asphalt Rally Series and comprised of 5 stages totaling 80 stage miles on the fast tarmac roads of the Epynt military ranges. Event report here.

December: Rockingham Stages 2008

The 5th running of the Rockingham Stages, which we co-promote with Middlesex County Automobile Club, took place on the weekend of 13th/14th December. Once again almost 100 cars took part in the 2-day, 10-stage rally. This year we were joined by former British Rally Champion Russell Brookes who was reunited with the Talbot Sunbeam that he drove in the 1981 RAC Rally. However for the 4th time in a row the Rally was won by Steve Simpson, co-driven by Simon Hunter, in their Hyundai Accent WRC. The award winners are listed below. Visit the event website www.rockinghamstages.co.uk for full details.
