2004 AGM & Awards Presentation

The 2004 AGM and awards presentation for the club's 2003 championships took place at the Red Lion, Haddenham, on 20th January.

Brian Cammack (chairman) welcomed everyone to the meeting and reported on the previous 12 months club activities. There had, for the second year running, been a notable increase in the number of stage rally competitors, with 23 drivers and 22 co-drivers being fielded on a variety of events throughout the year and no less than 10 crews being entered for the local Abingdon Stages. We are now able to field as many rally crews as many of the larger clubs. The number of members had also increased over past years and Brian was hopeful this would continue.

Brian said that the Autotests organised in 2003 had proved popular and that we planned to run more this year. However the 12-car road rally run jointly with MCAC had not been well supported, with the two clubs managing to field only 6 cars. Brian was disappointed by this as he enjoyed road rallies but the amount of effort put in to running them was not justified, given the poor support they received and it was unlikely we would run a road rally this year. Overall 2003 had been a good year with more members than ever getting involved either as competitors, service crews or marshals.

Next Peter Wood (treasurer) presented the accounts for 2003 and reported an increase in club funds with the running of the autotests, increased membership and sale of club rugby shirts helping to maintain the healthy state of the accounts. 

The test days organised in conjunction with Vision Motorsport had also helped with a contribution to the club and he hoped to run one or two test days again this year.

James Walters (secretary) then outlined the plans for 2004. This would include running more autotests, test days, the annual treasure hunt & barbeque (which would be moved to June to encourage more people to attend) and the club Christmas meal. The autotests would be our usual grass events in the summer with the gravel autotest again being run between Christmas and the new year. (see the calendar for full details)

After a break for drinks and buffet the awards for the 2003 club championships were presented by Brian & James.
